Facing Our Triggers: Breaking the Cycle

Sad mother looks out bus window while toddler is watching a phone.

Moms often feel sad and guilty after getting angry with their kids. How can we break this cycle?

Facing Our Triggers: Breaking the Cycle to Build Connection
A Private YWCA Conscious Parenting Workshop for Single Moms and Their Babies

Ever wonder why your child’s cries or meltdowns can stir up such big emotions in you? As parents, our children often trigger unresolved pain from our own past, and we find ourselves reacting in ways we never intended.

In this private YWCA Single Moms’ Baby & Me workshop, we’ll explore the science of the nervous system and why we react the way we do. Through guided self-inquiry, participants will learn to recognize their triggers, understand where they come from, and discover practical conscious parenting tools to break reactive cycles rooted in fear and choose how to respond with love instead.

This supportive session offers a safe space to pause, reflect, and reconnect.

Participants will leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of how our nervous system shapes our reactions

  • Self-inquiry practices to uncover and heal triggers from childhood

  • Practical tools to pause, regulate, and respond with presence and love
